National Heart Month 2021
This month it’s National Heart Month – This was created by the British Heart Foundation to raise awareness of a variety of heart conditions.
There are a variety of diseases relating to the heart and circulation, which are referred to as cardiovascular diseases (CVD) or heart disease.
Understanding heart conditions is extremely complex, but the good news is that there are many things we can do to help control, treat and prevent heart and circulatory diseases.
How Can You Keep Your Heart Healthy?
Making good lifestyle choices is the best way to improve your heart’s health and keep it healthy. To reduce the risk of developing heart-related problems, you should:
- exercise regularly
- eat a balanced, varied diet
- monitor your blood pressure
- maintain a healthy weight
- get regular health checks by a professional
- quit smoking
