Live-in care FAQ’s

What is Live-in Home Care

Live-in care is where you have a fully trained carer living with you in your own home. Your Live-in carer will support you with your specific care needs to keep you safe, comfortable and living independently at home. Learn more about Live-in home care.

What is a Live-in Care Assistant

We know that living with someone new can be daunting, especially if it’s the first time you’ve ever lived with someone or the first time you’ve welcomed someone new into your home since your partner passed. Our priority is that you feel safe and comfortable, so we will work hard to match you with a carer that has similar interests and can provide companionship and a friendly face as well as a high level of care. Find out more below on what a Live-in care assistant can do to help you.

What if I don’t get on with my live-in carer?

Abicare provides highly trained and vetted carers that have experience with care. We know how important that special relationship with the carer is, which is why we will work hard to match you or your loved ones with the perfect carer.

Please do not worry if you don’t get along with a carer, we can replace the carer to find someone better suited to you. Learn more about what you can do if you don’t get along with your carer.

What does a live-in carer do

A Live-in carer is appointed to live with you or your loved one in their own home to provide one-to-one homecare, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our live-in carers provide bespoke, 24-7 home care for you or a loved one and have a wealth of experience caring for service users with specialist conditions. Whatever the level of care required, we are always on hand to help.

What do i need, to have a live-in carer

A Live-in carer will need space of their own with a bed, access to bathroom facilities and a kitchen so food can be prepared by the carer for the service user and themselves, if required. Learn more about a Live-in carer’s needs and how to get a Live-in carer.

What are the benefits of live-in care

Live-in care provides a way for you or your loved one to feel a sense of companionship, emotional support, and access to specialised care whilst staying in the comfort of their home and the local community.

I don’t think i’d like sharing my life with a stranger

At Abicare, we strive to find the perfect match between our carers and service users as we know how personal it is. Your carer will have as much involvement in your life as you want. They are on hand to help you with day to day life, in whatever capacity you need, and if you want someone for companionship as well they are there to keep you company. However, they have their own space and living area, so if you would prefer someone to be more discreet, that’s also fine.

How to get a live-in carer
