Visiting care for vulnerable adults or those with a learning difficulty

Find out more about the visiting care services we offer in the comfort of your own home for vulnerable adults, including the elderly, and those with a learning difficulty.

Specialist care in the comfort of your own home

Sometimes a full time Live-in carer may not be necessary for vulnerable adults or service users with a learning difficulty, and they might just need a helping hand and a familiar face around the house every now and again, or a flexible care plan that changes over time, particularly if they are elderly. Our fully vetted, specialist trained carers are here to help, and can offer you, or your loved one, the right level of support you need in the comfort of your own home.

Visiting care for vulnerable adults or those with a learning difficulty

At Abicare, we have a number of specialist carers who are experienced in working with service users with a variety of learning difficulties, and understand their specific, unique needs and that sometimes vulnerable adults require a little extra time and patience. We will always encourage our service users to live as independently as possible. Visiting care for those with a learning difficulty might include the following:

  • Personal care – bathing, dressing, going to the toilet and supervision of medicine
  • Help with administering medication and managing pain, especially if a client is elderly
  • Light housework – laundry, shopping or walking the dog
  • Help with preparing your favourite meals
  • Accompanying you on trips
  • Companionship and mental support – Sometimes it’s a huge comfort for clients with a learning difficulty to have a familiar, friendly face around the house who is there for a cup of tea and a chat as well as to offer more physical support
  • Physical and mobility support – We understand that clients with a learning difficulty sometimes have restricted mobility and we are on hand to support them in day-to-day tasks and to encourage them to live as independently as possible
  • Running essential errands, for example collecting your medication or doing a food shop
  • Respite Care – If you are someone’s regular care giver, and you need some extra support or a break, our team of carers can step in and help and give you peace of mind knowing that your loved one is receiving the high quality of care that they are used to
