Creating Caring Communities…!
As well as providing Home Care and Live-in Care, Abicare have always been actively dedicated to Corporate Social Responsibility.
We are committed to ‘Creating Caring Communities,’ which is why we partake in a number of annual charity events such as Comic Relief, Macmillan Coffee Morning, Children in Need, and Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day, to name but a few. This is something that we have done for many years, but every year we also raise funds and awareness for a number of charities that are close to our heart.

The Trussell Trust
We previously supported The Trussell Trust in 2018, offering our support in a number of ways:
- Food Bank collections – each of our local offices (Basingstoke, Bradford-on-Avon, Swindon, Salisbury and Wales) have a collection point for non-perishable food items and toiletries.
- Payroll Giving – employees can donate a fixed amount every month from their salary through the Payroll Giving scheme.
- Every week we hold a company wide quiz, and the winner can choose to donate their monetary gift to the Trussell Trust, if they so wish.
- Fundraising events – including an event which took place in 2018, when a few members of the senior management team embarked upon a gruelling Mount Everest challenge, which involved cycling the equivalent height of Mount Everest, raising over £3,000. We will continue to hold even more fundraising events for the coming year!

As well as supporting a national charity, we also encourage all our offices to support a local charity that is important to them.
This year our local offices are supporting and raising funds for the following charities, so keep an eye out on our social media channels for updates of our fundraising efforts!

Previous Charitable and Community Events
We started this campaign in December 2018, but unfortunately due to Covid we had to take a break in 2020 & 2021. However, we resumed this successful annual campaign in November 2022.

In 2022 we took part in their 40-4-40 appeal, and we were one of 33 local businesses who helped to raise £40,000 in support of Salisbury Hospice’s 40th year celebrations.

In 2022 we raised funds for the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal. At our Head Office we held a bake sale, members of our live-in team did a 5 mile sponsored walk and on top of the money raised we also donated £5,000 to the appeal.
Every year we supported this extremely important charity in Salisbury by taking part in the Bring a Pound to Work Day event, held in conjunction with Spire FM radio. In addition to this, in 2020 we donated a whopping £650!
Through various bake and book sales, beach days and regular collections, in 2018 we raised £486.50, which was enough to twin EIGHT toilets in less fortunate countries abroad.
In 2018 we took part in making twiddlemuffs for Dementia patients, and across the entire company we successfully created over 125 twiddlemuffs, which were donated to The Royal Gwent Hospital in Wales, and Salisbury Hospital in Wiltshire!
We are so proud of all that we have achieved so far in raising funds and awareness for a number of fantastic charities and local causes and we look forward to continuing to do so in the coming year!
