Specialist care in the comfort of your own home

Sometimes a full time Live-in carer may not be necessary for those needing respite care, and they might just need a helping hand and a familiar face around the house every now and again, or a flexible care plan that changes depending on when their regular care giver is away on holiday or needs a break. Our fully vetted, specialist trained carers are here to help, and can offer you, or your loved one, the right level of support you need in the comfort of your own home.

What does visiting respite care include?

At Abicare, we have a number of specialist carers who are experienced in working with service users needing respite care, and understand a variety of specific, unique needs depending on different conditions and situations. We will always encourage our service users to live as independently as possible. Visiting respite care might include the following:

  • Visiting care in a specialist area
  • Personal care – bathing, dressing, going to the toilet and supervision of medicine
  • Help with administering medication and managing pain, or keeping a wound clean following surgery
  • Light housework – laundry, shopping or walking the dog
  • Help with preparing your favourite meals
  • Accompanying you on trips
  • Companionship and mental support – Sometimes it’s a huge comfort for service users to have a familiar, friendly face around the house who is there for a cup of tea and a chat as well as to offer more physical support
  • Physical and mobility support – We understand that service users needing respite care sometimes have restricted mobility and we are on hand to support them in day-to-day tasks and to encourage them to live as independently as possible
  • Running essential errands, for example collecting your medication or doing a food shop

Our specialist carers are on hand to provide visiting respite care services, all in the comfort of your own home. Get in touch today to find out more about visiting respite care.
