What is a Live-in Care Assistant

Find out more about what a Live-in care assistant is and what they do

We know that living with someone new can be daunting, especially if it’s the first time you’ve ever lived with someone or the first time you’ve welcomed someone new into your home since your partner passed. Our priority is that you feel safe and comfortable, so we will work hard to match you with a carer that has similar interests and can provide companionship and a friendly face as well as a high level of care. Find out more below on what a Live-in care assistant can do to help you.

Personal support and medical assistance

Whatever the level of care you need may be, we can provide highly–qualified, trained carers to make sure your requirements are met. This may include support with personal care (such as going to the toilet or help with having a bath or shower) or low grade medical support, such as help with administering medication. Get in touch today to find out more or if you have a specific question.

Specialist care

We know that living with a medical condition is life altering for the patient and those around them. At Abicare we have a number of carers with specialist training in a number of conditions so we are able to tailor our care to every client’s individual needs. We also understand that sometimes circumstances change, and it’s never a problem. We will adapt the care we provide as necessary, so you always feel reassured, safe and comfortable in your own home.

Assistance with diet and nutrition

What we eat is essential to living life to the fullest and making sure our bodies have enough energy to function properly, both mentally and physically. Our carers are able to prepare a variety of different delicious meals, so you can always eat something you fancy. We want to encourage our clients to live as independently as possible, and a lot of our clients get a lot of joy from cooking things from scratch, so when possible, we will encourage and help you to prepare your own food.

Help with household chores

We want you or your loved one to continue to live as independently as possible in the comfort of your own home, and we know that sometimes that might mean you need an extra pair of hands to keep everything running smoothly. Our carers can help with things such as the ironing and laundry, the washing up, vacuuming and dusting and even taking your pets out for a walk.

Companionship

Sometimes the smallest things make the biggest difference, and it can be a huge help having a friendly, familiar face around the house to keep you company and someone to sit down with for a cup of tea and a chat. Our carers are on hand to provide companionship and to give you peace of mind if you are worried about living alone, especially during the night.
