Convalescent Care
Did you know that we provide Convalescent Care?
We understand that coming out of hospital can be a daunting process, which is why our carers are fully trained to ensure that your transition from coming out of hospital to making a full recovery is handled with sensitivity, respect, encouragement and comfort.
What we offer:
Visiting Care
Based on the care plan and specific needs of you or your loved one, our carers can visit at specific times of the day- You can choose the amount of visits you require per day or per week and for how long each visit will last.
We provide home care in and around Salisbury, Swindon, Bradford-on-Avon, Basingstoke and South East Wales.
Respite Care
If your usual caregiver needs to take a break, we offer respite care to help support you and your caregiver.
Live-in Care
As well as providing visiting care and respite care, Abicare offers Live-in care for Convalescent Care. One of our trained live-in carers will live with you or your loved one at home to provide the practical and compassionate support that you need, based on your requirements and person-centered care plan. We provide live-in care throughout England and Wales.
We will work with you or your loved one to create a care plan based on your needs, which may include:
• help with building back your strength.
• encouragement to start resuming daily activities as soon as possible.
• encouragement to start doing self-care routines so you can resume your independent lifestyle.
Daily care tasks may include:
- Moving you back and forth between bed and chair, chair and toilet, etc.
- Moving you between different lying positions.
- Repositioning you in bed.
- Repositioning you in a wheelchair, armchair, etc.
- Personal hygiene.
- Assistance with skin care/wound treatment.
Why Choose Abicare?
We can provide short term home care support to anyone who needs Convalescent Care. In some cases, when a patient is discharged from hospital a district nurse will provide visits once or twice a day to ensure they are recovering well, but often this is not enough.
At Abicare we provide visiting care and full time Live-in Convalescent Care, based on your specific needs. Our carers will help with domestic duties around the home as well as providing companionship during the early days of recovery.
We are aware that many people who require Convalescent Care may feel vulnerable because they are unable to perform the daily tasks they were able to do, prior to going into hospital – this can also have an impact on their mental, as well as physical, wellbeing.
In addition to the personal care we provide, we also offer person-centred home care support for any related mental health issues, such as low self-esteem or depression. To explore your care options, and to find out more about our convalescent care, contact Abicare today so that we can create the right care package for you: https://abicare.co.uk/who-we-support/#contact-form
