Why work for Abicare?

At Abicare, we know you don’t become a care expert overnight. We start you off with an online training programme you can complete from your own home, but we don’t stop there. You’ll complete two to six days of industry-standard training to get your care certificate. If you are new to care, you will then shadow one of our experienced carers. As you learn the skills you need on the job, you will have extra training courses for your development and online training throughout the year.

Roles we offer
We offer visiting home care assistant roles and Live-in care assistant roles. Our carers receive specialist training to offer support and companionship to those who need it most.

Visiting care assistant

As a visiting care assistant, you will visit a client in their home for a specific amount of time, and provide support with their day to day life. This usually involves helping someone with everyday tasks and personal care. At Abicare, we look after clients of all ages and with varying degrees of dependency, so we can teach you everything you need to know to make a difference to the lives of our clients and their families.

Some of the things a visiting care role might include are the following:

  • Personal care: bathing, dressing, help going to the toilet and supervision of medicine
  • Bedtime and morning routines: help with getting up and getting ready for bed
  • Food preparation and help at meal-times
  • Light housework: laundry, cooking, and cleaning
  • Companionship and social interaction
  • Social activities: visits to clubs and to see friends and family
  • Errands: shopping and collecting prescriptions

Live-in care assistant

As a Live-in care assistant, you will live with higher dependency clients in their home and offer round the clock care and support with their day to day life (you will get regular breaks and time off). This usually involves helping someone with everyday tasks and personal care, and may also include low grade medical care. At Abicare, we look after clients of all ages and with varying degrees of dependency, so we can teach you everything you need to know to make a difference to the lives of our clients and their families.

Some of the things a Live-in care role might include are the following:

  • Personal care: bathing, dressing, help going to the toilet and supervision of medicine
  • Bedtime and morning routines: help with getting up and getting ready for bed
  • Food preparation and help at meal-times
  • Light housework: laundry, cooking, and cleaning
  • Companionship and social interaction
  • Social activities: visits to clubs and to see friends and family
  • Errands: shopping and collecting prescriptions
  • Occasional help at night: any regular night-time care clients have two carers or visiting carer support
