International Youth Day 2020 – Engagement for Global Action
Today is International Youth Day. It began in 2000 and was organised by the United Nations to celebrate the qualities of young people and the challenges that today’s youth may face.
International Youth Day focuses on their place in society, not just to protect them, but to include them in the development of communities around the world, whether they’re rich or poor. The areas of youth development and protection also includes social justice, education, employment, the environment, delinquency, girls and young women, HIV/AIDS and intergenerational relations.
To mark this year’s International Youth Day, the theme is “Youth Engagement for Global Action,” which aims to highlight how the engagement of young people at local, national and global levels is beneficial to local society and worldwide.

It is essential that we make sure that all youths are encouraged to engage within all levels of society to help create a better future. Becoming a carer is an example of how you can help make a real difference, which is why we welcome carers of all ages, genders and backgrounds to join us!
